Meet Phil Quagliariello
How do you feel about raisins?
I'm pretty indifferent about raisins. I'll eat them if they're around, especially if they're in cereal or cookies!
What song is in your head right now?
"Get On Your Boots" by U2
What's your passion?
I have a passion for music, songwriting, playing drums and guitar, and continually learning to be the best version of myself. I love conversation and communication. I have a strong passion for justice and it is a driving force in many aspects of my life.
What's something about yourself I couldn't find on your Facebook page?
My life tends to be an open book, which sometimes gets me in trouble. I used to train German Shepherds in obedience and protection. I've had a GSD competition dog bite me on the arm through a "bite sleeve", and "tackle" me during training exercises. It's quite the adrenaline rush (and for the record, it does still hurt)!
What are your hopes and dreams for RISE?
My dream for RISE is for other people within the larger "church" to see what RISE is doing in the community and not be in competition, but in cooperation, and even to catch a similar vision and realize that there's more to be a Christian that what happens in a building on Sunday. It's not about programs and being relevant, it's about people, community, and making a difference in the lives of those people. My dream would be for RISE to grow, not necessarily numerically, but exponentially in impact on the local community and global community. I love that RISE is developing leaders and arousing passions that might have been lying dormant or buried, and encouraging us to take action beyond just going to church on a Sunday.
