Stop Hunger Now and Out of the Darkness | This Weekend

This Saturday morning, join friends from all over the community to help package 20,000 meals for those in need around the world. This community-wide Stop Hunger Now event begins at 10:00 am at Cub Run Elementary School. For directions, click here. If you need a ride, call 540-324-3241 or meet at the Mission House at 9:30 am to carpool.)

The Out of the Darkness Walk on Sunday April 22 is a great opportunity for us to come together as a community to help increase awareness of suicide risks and warning sings, help people connect to vital resources that can increase their well being, and honor those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Monies donated to the walk benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to help support their suicide prevention programs, support services for survivors of suicide loss, and vital research in the area of suicide prevention and suicide. Registration and check-in begins at 12:00pm and the walk begins at 1:00 pm. Donations are encouraged, but there is no fee to participate. If you are interested in participating, volunteering, or donating food/bottled water for the walk, please contact Mark Dickerson at or 804-305-4935.
