What exactly is the Mac and Cheese-Off?
It's an amazing event full of holy gluttony in which we gather, we eat and we raise money for awareness of local hunger and other ministries that serve Harrisonburg and the surrounding community.
What's the point?
We want to raise awareness and raise money for Love Packs, RISE & Shine, Stop Hunger Now, Gleaning, and College Outreach. And we can't think of a cheddar (uh ... better) way to do this than with the best potluck ever.
Sounds amazing. How much does it cost?
$5 for kids
$10 for adults
What goes down?
Local amateurs like yourself and local celebrity chefs from your favorite Harrisonburg food establishments bring their own twists on mac and cheese for the public to try. And they well be grated -- uh, graded -- on which one you like the best! Also, there will be a silent auction to win beautiful and creative art from our Happy Hour kids!
What do I win?
The winner of the amateur chef competition will receive a gift certificate to one of the downtown food establishments represented by the local celebrity chefs! And the winner of the most popular mac and cheese recipe wins bragging rights until the next Mac and Cheese-Off.
Purchase tickets for entry here.
Want to sign up to bring your mac and cheese?
(Please bring at least 1 crockpot or 9x13 dish of your recipe to ensure that many people get to try it, and therefore vote, for your mouth watering Mac and Cheese!)
Questions? Email Megan Marker (firstname.lastname@example.org).
There will be parking at Turner Pavilion but additional parking can be found at the downtown parking deck across the street!
Special thanks to our sponsors (and competing celebrity chefs from these fine establishments)!
